With my wife, Margaret, I have lived in Pluckley, in Kent, UK, since January 2001. This is the Autumn view from the front of our small bungalow.

We moved here in 2001 with our youngest son. He moved out, effectively, when he joined the Royal Marines in 2005. One of his sisters subsequently moved back in for a year or so while she was sorting out somewhere more permanent to live. We’re ’empty nesters’ now, although we enjoy having various family members to stay from time to time.

An important part of our lives is our membership of an independent evangelical Baptist Church in the neighbouring village, Bethersden. I am an elder, along with our full-time Pastor, Matthew Cox.

To pay the bills I work as a financial adviser specialising in personal pensions and other collective investments. I hope to retire later in 2019 and spend my time doing what I can to keep fit and well, and being useful to God and to others.
